Literacy Olympics

On Monday 17 August, three teams from Years 5 and 6 went to the Literacy Olympics at Wavell State High School.  The teams competed against 80 other teams from 24 schools.  The teams had to complete a series of challenges that tested their knowledge of grammar and punctuation.  In the Year 6 category, one of the Wooloowin teams (James L., Ally B., Rose D. and Oscar R.) won the competition and earned a pack of Sharpies and a trophy.  All teams showed great sportsmanship towards the other teams and shook hands with their opponents.  We would like to thank Mrs Ridings and all of the parents who provided transport on the day.
