Students in Years 4-6 participate in interschool sport in summer and winter each year. A variety of sports are offered to our students.
In Term 3, the annual Athletics Carnival is held. The carnival is an opportunity for students to demonstrate the skills they have built on, during Physical Education lessons in long jump, high jump, discus, shot put and sprints as well as 200m and 800m events.
During Term 4, our students participate in our school swimming carnival. We are very fortunate at Wooloowin to have our own heated school pool to allow students to engage in two swimming lessons per week in Terms 1 and 4.
Active After School Communities program:
A Commonwealth-funded after school sports and recreation program offers organised activities, conducted by qualified coaches, for children’s fitness. Separate activities are conducted for the Early Phase of Learning and for the Middle Phase of Learning pupils.
Underwater hockey is conducted after school 2 afternoons per week in our school pool.
